Town Meeting on Tuesday overwhelmingly supported efforts to merge Lyndon and Lyndonville. Article 19, which asked “Shall the Town of Lyndon explore the feasibility of a merger of the Town of Lyndon, Vermont and the Village of Lyndonville, Vermont?”, received 79 percent voter approval. A similar question will go to village voters on March 15. The warrant article is non-binding and is intended to gauge local support. If it gets a thumbs up, the town and village would move ahead with a study committee. A merger would be a multi-step process.
