Fire crews responded to the Mt. Washington summit for a vehicle fire on Sunday morning

Fire crews responded to the Mt. Washington summit for a vehicle fire on Sunday morning.

Gorham Fire responded to a report of three cars on fire at the Mt. Washington Observatory parking lot at around 5:30 a.m.

In a Facebook post, Gorham Fire said two engines were sent up the 7.6-mile Mt. Washington Auto Road and arrived on scene in 30 minutes, despite the auto road being open early for a sunrise drive and full with traffic.

Fire crews used over 1,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire, which was fanned by high winds.

All three vehicles were destroyed, and the cause of the fire was not determined. It was not considered suspicious.
